Alcohol blamed in Lehigh Acres head-on crash
CREATED Oct. 4, 2013 LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - The Florida Patrol says alcohol is to blame for a head on crash that sent four people to the hospital Thursday morning. The FHP says 32-year-old Todd Anthony Rosario of Fort Myers was driving his BMW the wrong way on Gunnery Road near 26th Street just before 3:30 a.m. when he plowed head on into a Nissan driving by 30-year-old Shannon Lea Anderson of Lehigh Acres. Two passengers in Rosario's car, 32-year-old George Bennett and 30-year-old Jacqui Bentley were critically injured. Rosario suffered serious injuries. Anderson was also seriously injured. Rosario was charged with driving the wrong way, DUI and DUI with serious bodily injuries. Other charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
