SOUTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - A South Fort Myers teenager is facing a robbery charge, captured because he failed to come up with a good disguise.
18-year-old Justin Lee Branden was arrested for the robbery of the 7-Eleven early Sunday morning at 9651 Cypress Lake Drive.
Detectives checked the surveillance video and noticed the suspect wearing a bandana and red-shoe laced Converse shoes.
Video from earlier in the evening showed Branden coming into the store wearing similar clothing.
Wearing red shoe laces to a robbery was probably not a very bright idea for this Fort Myers man.
After securing a search warrant for his residence, clothing was discovered in the residence that was used in the robbery; including the Converse shoes with red shoe laces.
Detectives were unable to locate the stolen cash, but did recover:
-44 rolls of quarters
-36 rolls of nickels
-20 rolls of dimes
-1 roll of pennies
The investigation continues.
