NORTH NAPLES, Fla. - A gas station argument ended in North Naples Sunday afternoon with the arrest of a Wisconsin man on two felony charges.
A Collier County deputy received a call about a disturbance at a Shell Gas Station near I-75 and Immokalee Road.
The deputy says that 49-year-old Brian Kelly doused a woman with diesel fuel and grabbed a torch threatening to set her on fire.
Witnesses say Kelly had become angry when a car with two women in it pulled in behind Kelly's truck and trailer to gas up.
The two women were black and Kelly made racial slurs to both before dousing the fuel on one of them and grabbing the torch and threatened to blow her up.
The deputy said he considered the confrontation a hate crime. Kelly was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
