FORT MYERS, Fla. - Operation Synthetic Buzz Kill netted more than 17,000 packets of synthetic marijuana, or spice, and drug paraphernalia.
"It's right here in our community and we aren't going to tolerate this kind of crap," Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott said.
Deputies raided five convenience stores after a six month investigation. The five businesses caught selling spice to undercover agents are:
Sunoco at 3600 Palm Beach Blvd.
Shell Station at 18080 S. Tamiami Trail
San Carlos Grocery at 18011 S. Tamiami Trial
Marathon at 1490 Lee Blvd.
Sunoco at 8671 Littleton Rd.
Businesses next to the Shell Station say they always got strange vibes from the store.
"You see the cars coming and going and coming and going and it's just something weird," Ibolya Hodia, who owns Ibolya Salon, said.
And Shell customers say it's no secret the store was selling illegal drugs.
