Port Charlotte man charged after attempted robbery

PORT CHARLOTTE - Charlotte County deputies arrested a city man Wednesday night after they say he attempted to take a woman's backpack from her at knife point.
According to deputies, a woman was walking home from the Rainbow Food Mart on harbor Blvd. when a man on a bicycle approached her.
The victim said that he showed a large knife and threatened to stab her if she did not give him the bag.
When the woman refused, the man rode away towards the food mart.
During the investigation detectives located the suspect 44-year-old Tyrone Marion near Gibralter Avenue.
Marion was charged with robbery with a weapon and was sent to the Charlotte County Jail without bail pending arraignment.
