OKEECHOBEE, Fla. - Governor Rick Scott sends a blistering letter of attack to the US Army Corps of Engineers Tuesday.
Dark murky water pouring out of Lake Okeechobee is jeopardizing tourism and commercial fishing.
Governor Scott says this crisis could have been avoided if the corps had done it's job.
The corps admits there were warning signs of seepage at Lake Okeechobee as early as the 1990's.
Since Hurricane Katrina the corps is careful to keep lake levels lower to prevent a disaster.
They are now in the process of a monumental restoration project which is more than a half a billion dollars to secure the dyke but don't expect results anytime soon.
