FORT MYERS, Fla. - The hustle and bustle at FGCU is about to begin. Some students moved in a day early.
It's move-in day at Florida Gulf Coast University
"What's today been like?" asked Fox 4 reporter Gabrielle Sarann to Stephanie. "Crazy, very hectic."
We found Stephanie unpacking her room
"It's small, it's cozy, it's nice," added Stephanie, from Cape Coral.
And Samantha Volmar straightening her hair.
"It's orientation for rush week," said Volmar, from Fort Lauderdale.
Just freshman going Greek could move in a day early.
"It's also really nerve-wracking like being away for the first time from home," said Marti Nunnaloy, of Coral Springs.
She met her roommate, Shari Hotchkiss, today for the first time.
"How's it going so far?" asked Sarann. "It's good," said Hotchkiss, of North Port. "We're going to be best friends."
Most students applied to the school before Dunk City became a household name. But they say the Eagle's winning streak in the NCAA basketball tournament made it more exciting to come here.
"When i tell them I'm coming to this school, that's what they know it as Dunk City," said Volmar.
And as the girls got ready for their first night out, they wondered what's in store ahead.
"I live with two other people, that's okay i guess," said Stephanie.
