FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - A large shark washed ashore on Fort Myers Beach.  Bridget Drake shot this photo to FOX 4 saying that it washed ashore Friday morning.

Drake said they came across the shark between The Outrigger Beach Resort and The Sand Piper Beach Resort about 9 a.m. on Friday.

Recent fresh water releases from Lake Okeechobee by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has raised concerns among environmentalists about its impact on the waters of the Gulf of Mexico around Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel.

The water has turned to the color of mud over the course of the last month.
