CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral business owners are ready for construction to start on their street. They say a $1.47 million dollar city project will help with flooding while giving their street a new look.
Mark Veit with AAE Glass Art Studio in Cape Coral has worked on Lafayette Street for several years.
"Primarily a teaching studio and anyone who wants to learn about glass art from jewelry to vases comes here and learns," said Veit.
Construction on Lafayette Street started on Thursday right after the CRA Board and city staff broke ground. The $1.4 million dollar project will help fix flooding on this road.
