Lee Co. Sheriff's Office pilots to talk about pot bust
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Lee Co. Sheriff's Office pilots in the aviation unit will be talking later today about their roles in helping to bust a pot growing operation in a gated community.
Lee County deputies discovered a marijuana growing operation in an unusual spot. 11 marijuana plants were found inside the Fort Myers gated community of Forest Lake.
The pot was sitting near a lake not far from the intersection of Cedar Oak Drive and Pine Oak Circle.
LCSO's aviation unit helped guide deputies to the plants. The haul weighed 6.6 pounds and had an approximate street value of $11,000.
Investigators are still looking for those responsible for the pot plot.
