NAPLES Fla.- The youngest victim involved in a July 4th head on collision has died. Last Thursday, Naples Fire Department Lt. Corey Adamski, his pregnant wife Kristina and their two daughters were coming home from a holiday picnic in Lehigh Acres when and oncoming car crossed the center line of State Road 82 and hit the Adamski's head on. The driver of the other car, 37-year-old Robert Bridwell died at the scene.
Despite suffering serious injuries, Corey, Kristina and their two daughters are expected to be ok. But the youngest victim, newborn Penelope didn't survive.
" It is really hard for us to have to deal with our own family being hurt now." Naples Fire Lt. Jerry Pecar said.
Fellow firefighters, friends, family and complete strangers are coming together to help pay for mounting medical bills.
"It makes me feel good the city, the department, area departments are all getting behind him. He's a good kid a hard working firefighter, it's nice to see people setting up." Lt. Pecar said.
As the family begins the long road to recovery while dealing with the loss of a baby girl, Lt. Pecar wants the Adamski's to know his firefighter brothers are standing behind them.
