Car caper results in arrest of Fort Myers man

FORT MYERS, Fla. - A Fort Myers man tried to buy a new car without any money. The Lee County Sheriff's Office says Jason Randall went to Galloway Ford to buy a new Ford Mustang on April 25, 2013. The car was worth more than $30,000.
The deal hinged on Randall providing a down payment of $9,500. Randall produced a personal check along with a letter indicating the money was in h is account.
It turned out that Randall, 35, had written a bogus check. That touched off an investigation by Lee County detectives. Randall ultimately confessed to his crime.
Randall is charged with multiple felonies including uttering a false instrument and grand theft.
