Jimbo's Restaurant in Cape Coral set to close July 14
FORT MYERS, Fla. - In just seven short days, the oldest restaurant in Cape Coral is closing its doors.
Jimbo's Restaurant in downtown Cape Coral has been serving classic homemade meals to the community since 1978.
It's become famous for its 60 seat patio and more than 50 different types of burgers on the menu.
Carole Wasylyk and her husband, Wayne, have owned the restaurant for the past 15 years. She said it's a bitter sweet closing.
"Sad because you're going to miss all of the customers. They have been coming a long time, we know them by name. It's more like a family because it's a family-owned business," Wasylyk said.
Wasylyk said she is also happy that Monarca's Authentic Mexican Cuisine Bar & Grill will be moving into the space in the fall because it is also a family-run business.
Jimbo's will be serving it's last meals on July 14.
