Naples mother found passed out with child, arrested

NAPLES, Fla. - Naples police arrested a woman for neglecting her four-year-old son. 43-year-old Police say they found Heather Marie Cappelen drunk in a Naples hotel with her son.
She's charged with child neglect.
Police found went to the La Quinta Inn and Suites on 5th Avenue South after receiving a trespass call.
The clerk told officer that Cappelen hadn't paid for her hotel stay after checking in the day before. Police went to the room and found Cappelen who appeared to be intoxicated. They also found her four-year-old son, dirty, smelling of urine.
Cappelin was passed out on the bed and had urinated on herself.
Police learned that Cappelen had left her husband because of a domestic dspute and she had taken the child out of daycare without her husband's knowledge. The child was returned to Cappelen's husband but DCF is investigating.
