NORTH PORT, Fla. - A North Port man is facing multiple drug charges stemming from two separate incidents that occurred in Charlotte County in May. Deputies say 23-year-old Orlando Andrews fled during the second incident when they tried to arrest him.
Andrews was booked Monday on two counts of cocaine possession with intent to sale and possession of marijuana with intent to sale along with other drug related charges.
It started on May 29 when undercover officers purchased a gram of crack from Andrews for $200. Then on May 30 undercover detectives met with Andrews to buy both crack and marijuana. After paying Andrews for the drugs the "take down" signal was given but Andrews fled in a pick up truck.
A short time later North Port police found the pick up which had crashed and was left abandoned still running.
Andrews was finally arrested by Sarasota police on June 29
