FORT MYERS - The state is dropping its case against the alleged shooter of a 16-year-old Immokalee girl who died in February after being struck in the parking lot of the Ale House at 4400 Kernal Circle in Fort Myers.
The State Attorney's office says there is insufficent evidence to prosecute the case.
Fort Myers Police arrested 24-year-old Henry Brunson shortly after the shooting of Kanasha Isaac. Brunson was facing a charge of second degree murder.
But based on a report issued by the State Attorney's Office Tuesday, the only eyewitness to the shooting provided conflicting statements about the identity of the shooter. Evidence from the scene also contradicted her assertion that there was only one shooter. There were other evidentiary concerns listed by the prosecutor leading to the decision to drop the case against Brunson.
