Tracking the Tropics: Quiet through the weekend
FOX 4 Storm Patrol
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Upper level wind shear continues to reside over the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean and the western Atlantic while dry, dusty air comes off the west coast of Africa keeping the tropics quiet.
The only area of disturbed weather sits several hundred miles southwest of Acapulco, Mexico in the Pacific Ocean.
Upper-level winds are forecast to become conducive for development over the next couple of days and this system has a medium chance, about 40 percent, of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
