PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Undercover operations at Kiwanis Park resulted in the arrest of two Port Charlotte men on battery charges within a week of each other for two separate incidents.
Last Tuesday detectives arrested 62-year-old Alfred Thomas Carreiro for grabbing an undercover detective in the groin. The day before 66-year-old Michael Lawrence McGrael was arrested under similar circumstances.
Detectives set up a sting in the park after receiving complaints form area residents about illegal sexual activity.
Investigators say Carreiro asked the detective to go with him for a walk to a more secluded area of the park. During the walk he asked the detective asked he wanted to have oral sex. A short time later Carriero suddenly reached out and grabbed the detective's groin.
A similar incident happened involving McGrael who led a detective to a location to the park for a particular type of sexual arousal.
