NAPLES, Fla.- Parents near one Collier County school are going door to door to ask neighbors to sign a petition regarding a proposed cell phone tower at their child's school.
Denise Hayes is asking neighbors to side with her.
"We're trying to just let people know what's happening. People in the area need to know because it also concerns them," said Hayes.
Hayes is not happy with the school district's latest idea of putting a cell phone tower at Naples Park Elementary School.
"That's really our main concern. We really don't know what it does to small children, but we know it's probably not the best thing for them," said Hayes.
Hayes is not alone. Other parents Fox 4 spoke with also have kids who attend Naples Park Elementary and they don't want a tower anywhere near their kids. The school district already has 3 towers at various schools. It has two towers at Naples High School and another tower at Lely High School.
