Cape Coral woman charged in crash that injured 5 children

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Cape Coral police arrested a 36-year-old woman in connection with January crash that injured five children, three critically.
The crash happened the night of Sunday January 13, 2013 just south of Pine Island Road at Nott Road.
Police say a Hyundai Entourage driven by Mary Jones of Cape Coral went into a ditch and hit a tree. Jones and five children in the car, ages two through ten, went to the hospital. Three of the children suffered life threatening injuries.
Monday Jones was arrested on multiple DUI related charges including DUI with serious bodily injury. She was also charged with possession of marijuana, under 20 grams and possession of a controlled substance.
The FDLE blood test showed that Jones had four different controlled substances in her system at the time of the crash.
Since that crash Jones was arrested again on April 27, 2013 for DUI and DUI with property damage and again on June 4, 2013 for trafficking in controlled substances.
