Hose breaks at gas station pouring gas over man

Fort Myers, Fla. "I was pumping gas and kinda looking at how much it was and it just went phoooshh... Right into my eye," says Malachi Randolph who was pumping gas at a Hess station Thursday afternoon on South Tamiami Trail when he says the hose broke. "It was like if someone had the hose, the nozzle and was just kinda like spraying it everywhere. It was all the full force because as you can see in the picture it just completely snapped. So all the gasoline was gushing out for about ten seconds," he added. Then, despite gas in his eyes, he grabbed the hose and did some quick thinking. "I rushed to kink it because I was just thinking because when gasoline hits you it's not like it was burning right away. It's not like it's fire where you run away from it. I was trying to kink it because I didn't want it to just spray over every one because it was literally just like going crazy." And while Randolph was taking care of other people, little did he know that some stranger was taking care of him, by hitting an emergency stop button. "Someone ran for it like they knew right where it was. It was just another customer. I never saw him again." Mr. Randolph wants to know how this could have happened. So FOX4 called Hess looking for answers, but they never got back to us. While Randolph is okay, he's had time to think back about it. "You know, that could happen to anyone. Who knows, if someone's windows open and their baby's inside? I mean, that could've killed someone."
