ARCADIA, Fla. - Arcadia Police took a suspect into custody Monday morning in connection to Sunday night's homicide.
28-year-old Keith Clark is charged with killing 29-year-old Rashard Watson inside a home off Pleasant Circle just before 9 p.m. Sunday.
Neighbors said they saw a group of men approach the house and fire shots.
Arcadia Police officers were nearby at Louis C. Anderson Park, directing traffic for a charity kickball game.
Marshal Matt Anderson said the officers "heard approximately 4-5 shots coming from the area of Pleasant Circle. Upon arrival, they saw a large crowd and they saw a subject in the house lying on the ground with a gunshot wound."
Hours later, a confidential informant gave police Clark's name, along with a description of the car he was riding in.
Five mintues later, police stopped the car and found Clark in the backseat.
Officials said the community was instrumental in the investigation. Anderson stated all the neighbors "were very cooperative." He went on to say, "They were helping us out, helping calm down the neighbors. Arcadia is a tight-knit community, everyone knows everyone."
