Fort Myers man killed in Alligator Alley crash

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol says a crash early Tuesday morning on Alligator Alley claimed the life of a Fort Myers man.
33-year-old Jonathan Guffey was traveling south on SR 29 taking the on ramp at mile marker 80 when his Chevy pick-up drifted into the grassy median and start a marker pole.
The pick-up went airborne for about 120 feet over the roadway, landing on the ground before hitting a palm tree. That sent the Chevy into a spin where it finally rolled over.
Guffey was taken to Physicians Regional Hospital before being taken by Med Flight to Lee Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.
