Collier County teacher accused of abusing students
NAPLES, Fla.- A Collier County teacher has been removed from her classroom duties and reassigned to the administrative center pending an investigation by Florida Department of Children and Families.
According to the Collier County School District, a teacher, Laurie Nowlin, at Pelican Marsh Elementary was removed from the classroom pending the outcome of the investigation.
Parents tell Fox 4 the teacher is accused of verbally abusing students.
A DCF spokeswoman tells Fox 4 in situations involving child abuse allegations against school teachers, DCF completes the investigation and determine if abuse or neglect occurred. The report along with the findings will be shared with administrators at the school system and the school system determines the next course of action.
