PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County detectives arrested a Port Charlotte man early Saturday morning on charges related to buying and selling controlled substances.
Detectives say 28-year-old Peter James Aldhurst swallowed the pill he had just purchased from undercover narcotics detectives when they arrested him.
On Tuesday May 21 detectives met Aldhurst and made an undercover buy near Lake Better Park. They say Aldhurst sold them 15 Alprazolam pills for $30. Then Aldhurst met with an undercover detective late the night of Friday May 24 to buy Oxycodone. When the undercover officer gave him a placebo and the arrest began to unfold Aldhurst swallowed the pill.
Aldhurst was taken into custody and transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he was released on $40,000 bond.
