PLUMSTED TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - A Florida man died and his wife was critically injured after their vehicle was struck by a dump truck in New Jersey.
Officials say 81-year-old Robert Sauer of Fort Myers, Fla., was trying to turn left when his vehicle was hit by a dump truck loaded with sand in Plumsted Township Wednesday.
Officials say the truck, driven by 49-year-old Elijah Vandermark of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., overturned and landed on top of Sauer's vehicle.
Sauer's 78-year-old wife, Marilyn, is hospitalized in critical condition.
Vandermark was not injured.
