What will happen to the koi pond at King Richard's?
NAPLES, Fla.- What will happen to the koi pond at King Richard's Family Fun Park? The park closed back in April and on Thursday everything was auctioned off. Items like carnival rides, popcorn machines, tables, and arcade games were all up for bid.
The park will be torn down to make room for a dealership, but some worried what will happen to the fish in the pond that surrounds the park.
The founder of Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary in Sarasota says do not worry! She has agreed to take all the fish.
"We just happen to look at the fish and asked the auctioneer are they on the list and he said no not listed so I found the owner and we made a deal yesterday and we are taking the fish to come and live in Sarasota," said Kay Rosarie/Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary .
The Big Cat Habitat says there is alot of work ahead of them. They need to transport the fish and also build a koi pond at their facility. To learn more visit BigCatHabitat.org
