CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Sick of paying your high cable bill?
Four In Your Corner's Colleen Hogan is showing you some new ways to ditch your service and get cable channels on the cheap!
Jessica Kittredge is a savvy shopper. The Port Charlotte woman is always looking for ways to save money on anything she can.
Her cable bill is no exception.
"Every month it's different," she said.
She's been thinking more and more about dumping her cable and just going to alternative video streaming services.
To trim her fluctuating bill, she ordered Netflix. Instead of ordering movies on cable - they now watch on Netflix, although sometimes they have to wait for new releases. A basic membership starts at $7.99 a month.
- Hulu is another service you might consider using to watch TV and movies, but you'll have to sit though some commercials. Hulu Plus is $7.99 a month. That service lets you watch premium channels and movies on all your devices.
- Another option is a Roku player. It's a streaming device player that shows 750 channels but you have to pay up to $100 for the box and you have to pay extra to watch live TV through it.
But beware before you dump your cable service. Some shows and movies, you'll only be able to see on traditional and premium cable. A rep for one of the major cable companies says, comparing cable and streaming services is like comparing apples and oranges.
