LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - A 22-year-old Lehigh Acres man faces a charge of animal cruelty for shooting a kitten with a BB gun.
On Wednesday a woman called for help in the 500 block of Willard Avenue because her brother was chasing her around the house and threatening her. The confrontation started because Jacob Nathaniel Carr had shot one of her kittens with a BB gun.
When a deputy arrived he found the kitten had a wound in its left rear leg consistent with being shot with a BB gun.
Carr told the deputy that he believed some of the kittens might have rabies and could attack him. Carr also had a small smell of alcohol.
He was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail.
