Payday for former Edison State College VP
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Edison State College is paying out hundreds of thousands of dollars to a former Vice President who claims he was unjustly fired.
The board of trustees agreed to pay a 256-thousand dollar settlement to Dr. Steve Atkins. Atkins was the schools former Vice President for academic affairs.
Atkins was fired in 2011.
He claims it was because he complained about discriminatory hiring practices at Edison State.
The school's spokeswoman giving us a statement saying : "we're glad this has issue has been resolved and we are going to continue to move forward."
