Fort Myers man arrested in fatal crash

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police arrested a 50-year-old man Monday in connection with a crash that claimed that life of a woman in January.
The early morning crash on January 28 at McGregor Boulevard and Olmeda Way took the life of 25-year-old Tiffany Thomas, a passenger in a Toyota driven by Paul Pombier.
Police who arrived at the crash scene smelled alcohol. Pombier, who was seriously injured, was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where law officers conducted a blood alcohol test.
The test showed that Pombier had a blood alcohol level of .26, well over the legal limit of .08.
Pombier is charged with DUI with a blood alcohol level higher than .15 and homicide-negligent manslaughter in a vehicle crash involving a DUI.
