CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Rutgers University is looking for a new basketball coach.
After reviewing released video, officials at Rutgers decided to fire coach Mike Rice.
In the video he's seen throwing basketballs at players and is accused of berating others with gay slurs and shoving and kicking them.
"There's no explanation for what's on those films, because there's no excuse for it. I was wrong and I want to tell everybody who's believed in me that I'm deeply sorry for the pain and the hardship that I've caused," said Rice.
Rice's firing comes nearly four months after he had been suspended for three games and also fined $50,000.
Fox Four viewers like Brad taking to Facebook posting, "He's just old school! Its called discipline and that was his way of enforcing it. If the players didn't like it...leave."
Ed added, "He expresses his passion for the game he loves."
In reference to Rice being fired, Mary said, "Should have happened earlier."
Another person wrote, "Coaches like any other role models are first and foremost teachers. How would you expect a college professor or high school teacher to act in teaching our young people?!?!"
