FORT MYERS, Fla.-
We're learning shocking new details about the death of a Fort Myers toddler. 2-year-old Brianna Addison was found unresponsive-responsive inside unit at the Horizons apartments back in January. Her mother's boyfriend is charged for her murder.
According to reports, on the morning of January 30th, Shawna Hall found the toddler in her bed, not breathing. She had been in the care of 31-year-old Derric Johnson.
" Um, my boyfriend just went in there to wake up my daughter and he called me back, she will not wake up. Her lips are blue. She has like fluid coming out of her nose and mouth, I don't know what's wrong. She will not wake up." Hall said in a 911 call.
After several attempts to re-revive the 2-year-old, Brianna was pronounced dead at the hospital. According to reports, medical examiners discovered several blunt force cuts and bruises on her body, including a 1/2 inch strap mark on her left cheek matching the width of a small belt found on the scene. Neighbors were shocked by the gruesome situation and heartbroken by the tragedy hit so close to home.
"I have a two year old daughter and I thought what if that was my child?" One neighbor said.
Derric Johnson has been charged with aggravated child abuse and negligent homicide, he's still in custody at the Lee County Jail.
