Progress against Huckabee Fire in Big Cypress

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Firefighters can claim 50 percent containment of the massive Huckabee wildfire in the Big Cypress National Preserve.
The fire has charred 20,000 acres.
The Huckabee fire started on March 29, started by as an yet to be determined cause.
Better weather conditions are helping firefighters. Right now 64 firefighters from various agencies are battling the blaze.
The fire started just north of the Fire Prairie Trail along Turner River Road and is burning just east of SR 29 and south of I-75. The fire has forced the closure of these roads several times over the last five days.
