Big drop in Southwest Florida jobless rate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The latest jobs number suggest the economic recovery is gaining some major momentum in Southwest Florida.
The unemployment numbers for Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties showed major declines month to month from January to February of this year.
Statewide unemployment in Florida fell 0.2% to 7.7% Florida saw an increase in 7,700 private-sector jobs in February.
Lee County's jobless rate fell 0.5% in February from 7.9% to 7.5%.
Collier's numbers were even better with unemployment falling 0.6% from 7.5% in January to 6.9% in February.
Charlotte County made the most progress with its jobless rate in February at 7.4%, down from 8.1% in February.
Year to year Lee County has seen it's jobless rate fall 1.8%, Collier County has seen a drop of 1.4% and Charlotte County a decrease in unemployment of 1.9%
