NAPLES, Fla.- The red carpet is rolled out in Naples on Tuesday night.
Big names including TV host and actor Mario Lopez, former Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee and American Idol winner Ruben Studdard joined the Boys and Girls Club of Collier County.
The club hosted a fundraiser and its "Youth of the Year" ceremony at the Philharmonic Center of the Arts in Naples. One teen from the club will receive the award for his/her achievements and success overcoming obstacles.
The celebrities who attended tonight are all former Boys and Girls Club members.
"I was a former Boys and Girls Club member for many years. It got me introduced to wrestling and the arts, everything through it. It's always a special part of my life," said Mario Lopez.
"I contribute my success to people always believing in me and seeing potential in me that I did not know I had and what I would say to the young people tonight (or what I'm going to say to them tonight) is always dream and always know the impossible is probable," said Jackie Joyner-Kersee, former Olympian and keynote speaker.
American Idol winner Ruben Studdard also attended tonight's event. He says the club gave so much to him and now he likes to give back.
Other special guests include John Farrell, Manager Boston Red Sox, and Jim Clark, President and CEO of Boys and Girls Club of America.
