CAPE CORAL - A shooting in a quiet Cape Coral community has residents on edge tonight.
Cape Police are calling this a homicide investigation.
Police are also saying the victim is a 25-year-old black male, who died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim's name is not being released due to next of kin not being notified.

This quiet Cape Coral community became the scene of a shooting that has many residents still asking what exactly happened here today.
Tuesday afternoon was a scene of utter confusion. Police saying a man was shot at 4128 SW 7th place in Cape Coral around 2:15pm.
Lt. Tony Sizemore: "We can confirm one person was shot, a male, his condition right now is unknown."
They released few details about the suspected shooter.
Lt. Tony Sizemore: "There was a shooter described as a black male with a slim build last seen wearing a dark shirt with grey pants."
The suspect apparently took off in a black SUV. Leaving residents on edge, wondering if their neighborhood is safe.
Resident: "all I know is someone got shot and the police officer told me to stay in the house."
Family members of the victim arriving shortly after the shooting trying to find out what happened. Officers telling them to go to the police department for more information.
Brian Stofan: "The cable guy said he heard 3 or 4 shots."
We spoke with one man who lived next to the crime scene. He says the victim was shot to death.
Brian Stofan: "Nothing officially from police or anything like that but neighbors say there's somebody in the front or something like that."
Mike Mason: "a dead body."
Brian Stofan: "I didn't see no ambulance leave or nothing like that so…"
Four hours after the shooting our cameras were the only ones rolling when officers placed a body onto a stretcher ... then loaded it into a van. One neighbor deciding to leave in case the shooter was still on the loose.
Resident: "They were right next to me, it's a scary feeling when you have children."
Neighbors now hope police will be able to track down whoever did this so they can sleep a little easier.
Resident: "Very nervous, cause I know they're still looking for him, as far as I know."
