FORT MYERS, Fla. - Monday night ESPN crews were interviewing head coach Andy Enfield.
The cable network also carried some of last night's pep rally showing it live around the country.
Andy Enfield says: "i told our players i would rather have media attention right now than no media attention. that means we're not playing. no media attention means there's nobody here but you, right? exactly. we wouldn't even be in the gym today if we weren't playing. so there would be zero media attention."
If and that's a pretty big if these guys keep this up they would go to the final four in atlanta. steve hummer here today from the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
"there's interest from atlanta with this tournament because the final four is there. we're doing some buildup stories, and there's no bigger story right now than these guys." says Enfield
And what does he think about the possibility of him having to cover these guys again in ten days in Atlanta in the final four?
"i don't think anything is out of the question with them. just the way they play is such an up tempo exciting style that i bet the whole country is rooting for them. and you know why not"
Friday night the newest University in the state will go up against the biggest university in the state. As to that Andy Enfield said this:
"i am really upset with the selection committee. they should have put us on different sides of the bracket. they should have seen us playing each other in the sweet sixteen and not have two florida schools playing.
