Naples Airport takes legal action to stop FAA closure
FOX 4 Staff
NAPLES, Fla. - The Naples Airport Authority is taking legal action to stop the closure of its control tower in May by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The city is seeking a stay to the FAA's decision to close 149 towers across the country. The closure are due to budget cuts from the sequester.
FOX 4 News has reached out to the Lee County Port Authority and Charlotte County Airport Authority to see if they plan to take a similar action.
The tower at Page Field in Fort Myers and at the airport in Punta Gorda are scheduled to close on April 21st.
