NAPLES, Fla. - A fallen soldier returns home to Naples after being killed in Afghanistan.
Sgt. Marc Scialdo was killed earlier this month along with 4 others after a helicopter crash.
Red, white and blue at the Naples Airport is a sign of service. Loved ones of Sgt. Scialdo hold each other tight as a hero comes home, but not how any of us hoped.
"A lot of veterans grieve and most wear sunglasses because our eyes are teary," said Leonard Leary, Patriot Guard Riders.
Scialdo's body arrived at the Naples Airport just after 10am on Thursday. He received full military honors. A procession down U.S. 41, ended at a funeral home in Bonita Springs so he can be laid to rest on Friday morning.
"It's to honor with a sign of respect and thanks for his service to our country."
Guards of honor standby outside the funeral home as loved ones pay their respects to our soldier who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Scialdo, 31, attended St. John Neumman High School before going to Edison College. After that he joined the U.S. Army.
Funeral services for Scialdo are set for 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church.
