WFTX - There's been a lot of speculation recently on whether former Florida Governor Jeb Bush will follow in the footsteps of his famous family.
Older brother George W. and dad George H.W. Bush have both served as Commander-in-Chief.
But the younger Bush has said before there's no way he'd ever make a run for the White House.
When asked about it again on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday, it seems now he's not ruling out the idea of a possible presidential bid.
He said, "Now I've decided to defer any consideration of it 'til the proper time to make those considerations, which is out more than a year from now for sure and when I go through that process I'll let you know. I don't know why there has to be a lot of mystery about this. This is kind of how it normally works, I believe. So, look, I don't know if I'm going to run for elected office again or not. In the interim, I have a blessed life. I have a great family. I get to advocate issues and ideas that I believe in, uh, and I have a , I have a great life. So who knows what the future holds for me. But I'm excited that I think we're seeing the renewal of the conservative movement in the Republican Party and I want to be part of that, for sure."
Bush has been in the national spotlight recently pushing for immigration reform.
He's got a new book out on it. In it, he stresses he supports a pathway to legal status for illegal immigrants, not citizenship.
