If you planned on staying at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples this summer, you may be locked out.
The beach-front resort said it plans to temporarily close this summer as it starts a major remodeling project. The renovations will include updated guest rooms, all new air-conditioning systems and a restaurant re-vamp. Hotel marketing directors said it is better to close the hotel for sixty six days and dedicate all of the efforts to the project rather than guests having to vacation around construction crews. Current employees won't necessarily be out of work. Hotel reps said they'll either work at the hotel's golf resort, be part of the renovation crew or enjoy a nice long vacation. They said it is important to keep the Ritz-Carlton a 5 star attraction in Southwest Florida.
