Farmers march planned for Sunday against Publix

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Immokalee Farmworkers announced plans today for a 200 mile march from Fort Myers to Lakeland in an effort to pressure Publix to pay more for its tomatoes.
The group stacked 153 tomato buckets at Terry Park this morning to show how many buckets a picker must harvest to make minimum wage in a day.
The farmworkers are asking for a penny per pound bonus from Publix.
The two week march will start Sunday at Jesus Obrero Catholic Church in Fort Myers.
