FORT MYERS, Fla. - At JetBlue's entrance and in the ball park, fans caught baseball fever.
"We're here to see the Red Sox," exclaimed Robin Grab, of Bookelia, with her two nephews visiting from Massachusetts.
"We used to go into the city to see the Red Sox play at least once a year," added Grab. "So, it brings back memories."
Thousands made memories from the bleachers and by the field, as they watched the Boston Red Sox play the Tampa Bay Rays.
Keith Piesco, of Tampa, started young. "My first onesie was a Red Sox onezie, so I've been following baseball since i knew what it was."
Today was his first time sitting on the Green Monster.
"Obviously, it's not real Fenway but it's the next best thing," added Piesco. "So, it's pretty awesome. I've never had this opportunity before."
The line for food stayed steady. Many inhaled stadium staples, beer and hot dogs.
"Other than it being overpriced, its delicious," said Jared Murawski, of Tampa, who drove down with Piesco.
Another way to spend money was hats, shirts and other team items. Bill Black had to have the new JetBlue baseball.
"There's so much new merchandise this year," said Black, of Naples. "There's a lot of new things."
Even New York Yankees fans showed up.
"We just want to show our colors," said Tom Hayes, of Cape Coral.
Hayes and his pal were decked in their Bronx best.
"We were headed up to Tampa to see the Yankee game but we wound up at JetBlue," added Hayes. "I don't know how that happened."
