CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Her recent troubles in the headlines seemed to overshadow her music but many of you remember local singing star, Mindy McCready her for her angelic voice.
The North Fort Myers native burst on to the music scene in 1996 with her hit song "Guys do it all the time."
She recorded five studio albums but that attention shifted to her family struggles and addiction, even appearing on VH-1's "Celebrity Rehab" a few years ago where Dr. Drew Pinsky treated her.
"People were not stepping up, from getting her the care she needed. Low and behold we have a death. This is a deadly process and it has to be given the priority and the intensity of services that we do to other illnesses," said Dr. Pinsky.
