PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - A man sought in an incident where a Charlotte County deputy was struck by a pickup surrendered to authorities Wednesday.
22-year-old Hunter Bruce Morrison of Punta Gorda was wanted for hitting a deputy on January 16 with a pickup he was driving.
A second in that pickup, 35-year-old Jeffrey Dean May turned himself in last week.
Deputies tried to serve a probation violation warrant when Morrison threw his pickup into reverse and then sent it forward at a high rate of speed hitting a deputy in the leg. The deputy was treated and released for his injuries.
Both Morrison and May are charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer. Morrison is being held on no bond. May is in the Charlotte County Jail on $50,000 bond.
