NAPLES, Fla. - The biggest charity event in Southwest Florida raised a whopping $8.5 million for children's charity Saturday night in Naples.
The bidding was fast and furious at the live auction for the 13th annual Naples Winter Wine Festival to benefit underprivileged and at-risk children in Collier County.
The three-day festival themed "When Stars Align," reached the peak of excitement when the most power Ferrari ever made, the 2013 F12berlinetta came up for bid. Bob and Karen Scott made the winning bid of $750,000 for the car which comes complete with a special program to learn how to drive it.
Wine is at the heart of the auction and the top wine lot fetched $180,000 for a rare 65-bottle complete vertical of Chateau Mouton Rothschild Artist Label series housed in a custom-made display table.
