CREATED Jan. 15, 2013

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County detectives arrested a Port Charlotte woman for demanding $100 for an iPhone 4 she found left in a restroom.

43-year-old Rene Marie Glynn was charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

Sunday night CCSO received a call from a woman who said she accidentally left her iPhone in the Murdock WalMart restroom.  When she went back to get it, the phone was missing.

The victim told detectives she "pinged" the phone with the built in GPS locator and it came back to a home in the 2500 block of Nanette Avenue in North Port.

Finally the woman said she was contacted by Glynn who claimed to have her phone. Glynn said she would return to phone for a price and if she didn't get the money she would sell it on e-Bay.

The victim’s boyfriend spoke to Glynn and asked what was needed to get the phone back; Glynn said she wanted $100 in exchange for the phone.

CCSO detectives were waiting with the victim's boyfriend when they met for the exchange at the Murdock WalMart where she ended up accepting $20 for the phone.  Detectives then arrested Glynn.
