Father and 2 sons arrested for serving alcohol to minors in Charlotte County

DEEP CREEK, Fla.--- Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested a father and his two sons for having a house party in Deep Creek last Friday and serving alcohol to minors. Charged with Open House Party and Contributing to Delinquency of a Child was 43 year old Shawn Cook. His two sons, 20 year old Zakary Cook and 18 year old Austin Cook both live next door on Villarrica Drive were both charged with Resisting an Officer.

CCSO received several calls about a loud party and possible underage drinking at. One caller said young females were walking around with no shirts on and overheard some of the subjects coming out of the home saying how high they were. When deputies arrived they observed numerous subjects who all appeared to be under 18.

The father, Shawn Cook, said he had given his sons permission to have a party and he attempted to gain control of the party but it got out of hand with a crowd too large to handle. Cook said he did not know alcohol was being served in his son’s home.

All three were transported to the Charlotte County Jail. The father, Shawn Cook was released on $5,000 bond; his sons posted $500 bond each and were released.
