Florida Governor Orders Flags at Half Staff
TALLAHASSEE, Fl. -- Florida Gov. Rick Scott has ordered all state flags to be lowered to half-staff.
The Governor's directive follows President Obama's proclamation to lower our national flag in honor of the victims of the tragedy in Newtown, Conn.
Gov. Scott's directive calls for all state flags be lowered at all local, state, and federal buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida until the national directive expires.
The national directive is set to expire at sunset on Dec. 18, 2012.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims of today's tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut," said Governor Rick Scott.
